Chris Negus – Partner

Chris Negus brings to NRG over 10 years of experience within retail banking, commercial lending and business development within the biogas sector. This has led to assisting clients ranging from personal loans subject to FCA regulation up to a £25m project finance transaction for the development of a large-scale anaerobic digestion plant. Through previous roles Chris has a holistic understanding of the sector in which NRG looks to operate. Chris has provided over £160m worth of debt as well as leading on ten sell side M&A transactions totalling £400m during his career through his exhaustive number of contacts and relationships with sector leaders which are invaluable to NRG.

Andrew Rice – Partner

Andrew Rice brings to NRG over 30 years of experience from the retail and commercial finance sectors in the UK, running assorted teams within HSBC, Nat West, Citibank, BMW and others. Andy has a strong relationship management background and believes that this underpins any successful organisation. In a challenging climate, Andy can also support clients with a plethora of contacts and opportunities to provide refinance or restructuring opportunities. With over £175m refinanced over the last 20 years, whatever the economic weather, a full relationship management service is on hand.

Jonathan Cocker – Partner

Jonathan Cocker is an Environmental Markets lawyer with 25 years of experience working with environmentally driven businesses internationally with a specialty in the intersection of energy transition and circular economy, including biogas and renewable natural gas project development, funding, crediting and sales/off-take.    Jonathan has long been a first mover in these markets, including a partner in waste gasification-to-substitute natural gas projects in Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America/Caribbean and the United States and a co-founder of one of the Americas first private sector Producer Responsibility Organizations.  Jonathan is a frequent speaker and writer on energy transition and circular economy matters and been invited to speak at Harvard University, Trinity College Dublin and Tsinghua University.  Jonathan is an active member of a number of biogas and resource recovery industry groups and initiatives globally.  

Fred Morris – Partner

Fred Morris brings over 30 years of experience as a business owner and executive in capital markets, finance, and renewable energy with leadership positions in waste to energy, anaerobic digestion, vegetable drying, investment banks and commercial finance companies. Portfolio companies include renewable energy project development, landfill gas collection & electrical generation, pet food ingredient manufacturing, generic pharmaceutical manufacturing & distribution, commercial finance, insurance finance and consumer packaged goods. Mr. Morris has structured, placed and/or acted as principal in transactions backed by energy sales, alternative energy, tax credits, general corporate obligations, corporate accounts receivable, residential mortgages, commercial mortgages, healthcare receivables and consumer finance receivables.

Chris St. Peters – Partner

Chris St. Peters brings over 30 years of enterprise startup, funding, operating, and engineering experience in renewable energy and waste management.  He founded S6 Sustainable Solutions, Inc.  to provide funding, feedstock, offtake, construction, commercialization, and operating support for sustainable projects.  Chris served as COO for 7 initial locations for The Upcycling Company; President of Stella Energia, an Anaerobic Digester project developer; COO of NuCycle Energy, a startup alternative fuel company; and start-up, sales, business development, and operations of 5 locations for Aspen Waste Systems, Inc.  Chris designed electric motors, generators, and drives for Magnetek Electric Motor Company before joining Browning Ferris Industries.

Osman Rankin – Partner

Osman has been a debt capital adviser in the banking and development industry for over 26 years – 10 years at UBS and 16 years as an independent adviser. Having spent ten years as an adviser mainly at industry leader John Charcol, Osman joined UBS in 2006. In 2009 he took over running of the UBS mortgage desk in the UK.  Under Osman’s leadership the desk grew from two to a team of twelve. UBS went on to become the 13th largest lender in the UK, according to Council of Mortgage lenders data in 2012 and 2013, which is unprecedented for a private bank. This led to the desk winning the much-coveted prize of Best Private Bank at the 2013  Mortgage Strategy awards.
After ten years of handling some of the most complex mortgage deals the London market has seen, Osman left UBS to become independent. Osman has spent the last seven years advising on renewable projects, and raising debt and equity for projects across renewables, energy transition and industrial decarbonisation.
